What Are YouTube Fonts and How Do You Use Them?

Can You Change the Font on YouTube?
No, YouTube does not let you change its font directly, but you can paste Unicode text that looks like a different font.
YouTube shows all text in its own font. A generator gets around this by replacing each letter with a styled Unicode character, such as a mathematical bold letter. Because these are real characters, YouTube displays them like any other text. In comments, YouTube also supports *bold*, _italic_ and -strikethrough- formatting.
Where Can You Use Fancy Fonts on YouTube?
You can use fancy fonts in video titles, descriptions, comments, community posts and your channel name.
A styled word in a title or a styled header in a description helps it stand out. Keep the main keywords in plain text, though, because search may not match styled letters. YouTube titles allow up to 100 characters, so short styled words work best.
Do YouTube Fonts Hurt Search or Views?
Styled fonts do not hide your video, but YouTube search may not read styled words as normal words.
A bold ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด is a different set of characters from a plain Gaming, so search treats them differently. Use styled text for decoration, like an emoji, and put your real keywords in plain text. Screen readers also struggle with styled letters, so plain text is better for important information.
Will YouTube Fonts Show on All Devices?
Most YouTube fonts show on all modern phones, tablets and computers, but rare styles can appear as boxes.
Bold, italic and cursive styles are widely supported. Very decorative styles may not show on older devices or TVs. Use the Preview on social apps option to check, and test on a second device if possible. For more ideas, try our fancy text generator or bold text generator.
