Weird Text Generator

Strange alphabets, flipped letters and odd symbols. Make your text stand out in the weirdest way.

What Is a Weird Text Generator and How Do You Use It?

A weird text generator is a free tool that turns your normal text into strange-looking letters, such as ⒣⒠⒧⒧⒪, Ḧëḷḷö or 卄乇ㄥㄥㄖ, that you can copy and paste anywhere. Type in the box above, and every style updates as you type. Tap a card to copy it.

The first 18 cards on this page are the weird styles. Below them sit 97 styles in total, so you can switch to bold, cursive or gothic letters if you want something calmer.

What Weird Text Styles Can You Get?

You can get flipped, mirrored, glitched, boxed and foreign-looking letters, all made from real Unicode characters.

The weird group includes Parenthesis, Upside Down, Flipped (not reversed), Mirror, Cross Above, Glitch, Greek Style, Currency, Asian Style, Cyrillic Style, Thai Style, Hooked, Rock Dots, Leetspeak, Alternating Case, Random Mix, Random Mix 2 and Boxed Letters. For example, Leetspeak turns Hello into H3110, and Alternating Case gives hElLo.

For a fully flipped look, try our upside down text generator or mirror text generator.

How Does Weird Text Work?

Weird text works by swapping each normal letter for a look-alike character from another part of Unicode.

Unicode is the standard that every phone and computer uses for text. It includes many alphabets and symbols, such as Greek, Cyrillic, Thai and currency signs. The generator picks characters that look like A to Z, so the result reads as English but looks odd. Because it is real text, not an image or a font, it stays the same when you paste it.

Where Can You Use Weird Text?

You can use weird text in social bios, captions, comments, chats, game names and nicknames.

It works well on Instagram, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp and X. Use it for one word or a short line, because long weird paragraphs are hard to read. Search may not find styled words, and screen readers cannot read them as normal text, so keep important words plain.

Why Do Some Weird Letters Show as Boxes?

Some weird letters show as boxes because the device does not have a font for that rare character.

Older phones and some apps miss less common symbols. Before you post, use the Preview on social apps option to check the look, or test it in a message to yourself. If you see boxes, pick a simpler style. For heavy glitch marks, our Zalgo text generator has more options.

Is the Weird Text Generator Free?

Yes, the TextAura weird text generator is free, with no signup and nothing to install.

It runs in your browser and works on phones, tablets and computers. You can also save favorites, decorate text with frames and download a style as an image. More tools are on the TextAura home page.
